Rewatching this on VUDU, even the "Time Out" segment (the 1st segment where Vic Morrow unfortunately was killed making) is well directed. Spielberg is classic Spielberg in "Kick the Can" (love Jerry Goldsmith's score in this segment), "Its a Good Life" is a perfect blend of horror and comedy zaniness (which director Joe Dante is known for) and, of course, "Nightmare at 20,000 feet" is brilliant..AND scared me as a kid.
Too bad we'll never get a Special Edition release considering all the talent involved in this film...still, the HD cleanup looks nice! Movie looks phenomenal!

I loved the Vic Morrow segment the best of these. Sad for his life and those of the two child actors to end this way. there is footage on You Tube of the helicopter accident. You can't see what happened but see the copter crashing

Actually, THIS video goes into several angles. After the 3:50 mark...not for the faint of heart (the music doesn't help either)....
But too often the MOVIE itself isn't discussed...although I don't agree its the "best" segment RCH2288, the direction is good and the story flows smoothly, up until what feels like an abrupt & almost unfinished ending (for obvious reasons).

I've always enjoyed the entire movie for all its flaws. Nightmare At 20,000 feet was my favorite of the four stories.

Agree. It was a hard movie to watch in some ways, knowing what had happened to Morrow and the 2 kids. Yes, 20,000 feet was also my favourite. It was cool to see a new take on what was probably my favourite episode of the original with WIlliam Shatner.
