平静的一天，充满不祥气息的黑暗向地球逼近。与此同时，拉姆沉睡已久的曾祖父从冰棺中走出，当得知拉姆是个女孩子时竟大惊失色，原来早在曾祖父年轻时，曾和一个邪恶的家伙约定将女儿嫁给对方。不过曾祖父的儿孙皆为男性，直到拉姆诞生，于是那个等待了上百年的债主找上门来。他要求鬼族将拉姆嫁给自己的曾孙鲁巴，虽然鬼族上下一致反对，但对方拥有恐怖的魔力，鲁巴更用计谋将拉姆虏至月球。阿当为了找回拉姆，与面堂、弁天、阿雪、小兰、雷易杀向鲁巴的城堡。但是，在此期间他和拉姆发生了误会，两人的感情面临着前所未有的大考验……

It seems that Lum's grandfather made an agreement that should he have a daughter, she would be married to a traveling merchant that he met. Now, the merchant has come to collect due. Ataru is tricked into thinking that Lum wants to leave, and so, in a moment of anger, says he hates her. Arguments erupt, and Lum decides that she must know the truth of Atarus feelings. As for all the questions of importance for the Onis, a game of tag begins, one that Ataru can win simply by telling Lum I Love You. However, in the end his pride may end up dooming him. So begins the series of events that will at long last decide the future and fate of Ataru and Lum.

Lum apprend que son arrière-grand-père, que l'on croyait mort, a été retrouvé et vient de sortir de son sommeil après avoir hiberné pendant vingt ans. Lum se rend sur sa planète pour lui rendre visite. C'est alors qu'il lui confie que, 120 ans auparavant, il l'a promise à un habitant du Monde de l'Obscurité. Et de fait, peu de temps après, un étrange jeune homme du nom de Rupa apparaît à Tomobiki et enlève Lum sous le nez d'Ataru, après lui avoir glissé une bague au doigt…

Dopo essere stato scongelato da un sonno durato decine di anni, il nonno di Lamù ricorda che in giovinezza aveva promesso in sposa la propria nipote, a Rupa, il nipote di un mercante, che l'aveva ricattato per aiutarlo in un momento di difficoltà. Ma il momento che il nipote del mercante sposi Lamù è arrivato, e le cose potrebbero volgere al peggio. Tuttavia Lamù per far ingelosire Ataru gli fa credere di essere d'accordo con il matrimonio combinato. Ataru, in seguito ad una furiosa lite con la fidanzata, gli urla di odiarla, e Lamù fugge via, trasferendosi da Rupa che nel frattempo si era innamorato, ricambiato, della violenta Carla...

ある日、黒ブタの馬車に乗った黒づくめの少年“ルパ”がラムの前に現れる。彼は曾祖父さん同志が決めたラムの許嫁だと名乗り、ラムに指輪をはめさせる。その瞬間、ラムの特殊能力はなくなり、彼女はルパにさらわれてしまう。ラムが連れていかれた先は、闇の宇宙。そこではラムとルパの結婚式の準備が進められていた。あたるはラムを救出するために闇の宇宙へ向かうが、ルパの巧みな妨害工作によってラムとケンカしてしまい、結局彼女を置いて地球に戻ってしまう。

La historia de Urusei Yatsura llega a su climax en esta animación, en la que se cuenta el final del manga (pero no es la película final). Lupa, uno de tantos prometidos de Lum, entra en escena, y Lum y Ataru tienen que volver a prevenir que destruyan la Tierra. Todo lo que Ataru tiene que hacer es decir "Te quiero", las palabras que siempre ha evitado decir a Lum. ¿Admitirá sus verdaderos sentimientos salvando así la Tierra o, por el contrario, nos llevará su orgullo a la destrucción?.
