I was always surprised Judith Hoag didn't reprise her role. It was always suggested in IMDB trivia that it was her decision not to reprise her role. But her career was not storming and it was the biggest hit film she had been involved in. So there was always something that didn't quite add up. The interview clears up what really happened.
She didn't like the overall feel of the film which I agree with her that it was a cheesefest.
Judith Hoag was way more attractive to me, and seemed more natural as April. This may just be because she was the first one on the big screen, kind of how I always used to feel like Keaton should be Bruce Wayne.
I may be partial to the big hair of the late 80's into 1990's, but yes, I remember Judith more fondly than Paige Turco. I preferred her to all incarnations, including the sequels and the TMNT cartoons.

I heard and read she was a prima Donna on the first film and they didn't want to ask her back. So it sounds about right.

really? Different strokes for different folks, I think Paige Turco was MUCH hotter back then...didn't mind the casting change.
