There's just no way Lazlo could have figured what percentage of prizes he should win, without knowing how many total entries there would be. And how could he possibly know that? Plus even if he had some kind of historical table of previous entries to the contest, if there had ever been one, just one other Lazlo somewhere doing the same thing he was doing, would completely ruin his odds.

Still a funny, enjoyable movie, though. But as in many other cases, there are some things you just can't think about too much.
