One of the best opening scenes of a movie: Music starts Chris (Elisabeth Shue) jumps out and starts to dance and lip sync to the song Then He Kissed Me. It got me in the right mood for a comfy night with popcorn and ice cream, snuggled up under a warm cozy blanket

I've always loved the beginning to this movie, as well. It makes me want to dance around my bedroom lol.

I haven't seen Crossroads, but I heard the opening of that movie rips off Adventures in Babysitting pretty hard.

While in the opening scene of Crossroads the main character (Britney Spears) lip syncs the song "Open Your Heart", she didn't impress. As a singer and dancer she could have done much more with the choreography. On the other hand Elisabeth Shue acted out part of the lyrics so expressively and gave such a dazzling and invigorating performance, you just wanted to jump in and join her.

Love some Elisabeth Shue, had a thing for her ever since Karate Kid. Her opening dance in this was a trend-setter for sure.

Oh I absolutely loved that scene! I used to act it out when I was a teen back when babysitting was a hot job for teen girls. Thanks for mentioning it. It's one of the best parts of that movie.

Great film. It always made me want to night out just like it. That jazz scene alone was gold.

The scene alone made the 12 year old me (at the time) CRUSH on Elizabeth Shue BIG time...thought she was the most gorgeous woman ever put to celluloid at the time!
