The whole time he was gone after his 'execution', his wife thought he was dead. Why, after he casually pulls up outside her house, does she go over and hug him, with no questions asked or any words spoken between them? As far as she's concerned she's just seen a ghost. Maybe she's going crazy. Maybe she's delusional. Maybe she's projecting her dead husband's face onto every man she sees. These are the things she should have been thinking. I thought she'd be freaking out. Why and how does she just accept that he's back from the dead with no words of explanation?

Of course, as the audience we assume that he later explains to his wife and daughter everything that happened to him. It's just his wife's initial reaction at seeing him for the first time after his supposed execution that I find a little unbelievable.
