Discuss RockNRolla

I thought it had a very good cast and the story wasn't half bad. The pacing was a bit off and felt a bit dry in parts but for the most part it was an entertaining film. I was thinking that Ritchie jinxed himself when he put that little message in the end when he said Archy and the boys will be returning in the next film The Real Rocknrolla. I guess because the film did so poorly at the box office that pretty much killed any hope for a sequel. Still, I don't know. I thought the film was all right. I still like Snatch better though.

I initially gave it a 6/10, but I should give it a rewatch (I have it on DVD). I wasn't a fan of 'Snatch' though (I honestly can't say why). Although it might be one of those movies I should watch again?

It's impossible to dig this movie more ferociously than Bob's desire to dig One Two

Ha ha! Tom Hardy when he puts on his queen voice to seduce Bertie the attorney was friggin' hilarious. I thought that whole set up that Ritchie does where he teases that perhaps One Two, who is heterosexual 150%, might have gave his gay buddy Handsome Bob a go because "that's what mates do" was pretty funny as well.

Is it a wonder that so many critics continue to ponder whether or not Ritchie is actually trying to tell us something about himself, when his movies overwhelmingly seethe with brazen homoeroticism?

In this day and age if he was a cock smoker he would be yelling it from the rafters. Gay is in now and would be good for business. Dude has been married to women a couple of times and has a boatload of kids. So I doubt he is a pillow biter but if he is, more power (bottom) to him.

I know very little about GR's personal life, nor do I care. It's true though that as a director, it wouldn't be as controversial for him to be out and proud, though given the genre of movies that he's most associated with, this could potentially lead to lots of ribbing over just how fit he is to put forth these machismo drenched yarns. It's still pretty taboo for ACTORS to be out, especially young guys who are just getting their start. There's not much impediment to actresses who enjoy chowing down on the wetlands still being marketable as sex symbols, for the simple fact that two girls getting it on on camera remains erotic in the eyes of most viewers. As critically acclaimed as Call Me By Your Name was, no one aside from writers at Time Out and The Village voice were lining up to watch Armie Hammer hammer Chalamet; by contrast, Denise Richards and Neve Campbell's encounter in Wild Things remains widely venerated by critics and the general public alike, this many decades after that movie's release

heh, heh 😁 I don't care what anyone says, I like Wild Things but I must admit I have a soft spot for noir story telling especially when the femme fatale actually gets away with it so perhaps this is fogging up my critical eyeglasses on that film.

I tell you what though, any straight guy who can convincingly pull off a gay make out scene deserves all the praise in the world for being dedicated to his craft because I can tell you right now I would not be able to do it.

Yeah. For all of the hand wringing over how oppressive Hollywood supposedly is for actresses, they've got an edge over the guys when it comes to engaging in same sex nooky on camera. Lots of these gals have no doubt gone much further than what they're pretending to do on camera in RL

Yes, and although obviously my experience is anecdotal, I have found that perhaps 50% of women are bi-sexual while I have met very little men that are. I used to joke around that I was so heterosexual that if I ever was magically transformed into a woman then I would be a lesbian. That's how much I am into the gash. laughing
