I'm in that small group that liked V more than IV. Part four came across too much like a comic book, five was the most low-key next to the original.
I’m always in two minds about this. I’ll always give Rocky 5 props for trying to move away from the 80s excesses of Rocky 3 and 4 and do something interesting. There was a nice narrative with how he reached the top in 3 but then the fighting and the fact he had limited education finally took it’s toll (guy was practically blind in Rocky 2 but must have had 10 title fights 🤕).
Rocky 4 was amazing in a ‘comic book’ way. The crowd I saw it with all those years ago were screaming for Rocky - something that doesn’t usually happen in English cinemas. But it highlighted what a pantomime it was.
Off the back of that Rocky 5 did seem downbeat, maybe even boring to some (something a lot say about Rocky) but it’s a solid 6/10 in my book
Easy to say when we're not Stallone, and we don't have mansions and sports cars to pay for. I'm honestly surprised that guy hasn't gone so far as to crank out a sequel to Cobra by now
A sequel to Demolition Man would be ideal given today's climate.
No way - Rocky Balboa & Creed are both excellent additions!
Rocky IV has a certain 80s quality to it, whilst admittedly not being the best (although no worse than III?)
Rocky V though is another matter...
So I'm the ONLY friggin' one that genuinely likes Rocky V? It has its shortcomings, but I loved every bit of it when I saw it in theaters back in 1990! Even had a poster and the CD soundtrack! There's also a workprint cut of V that made the rounds for awhile....Tommy punches first in the final battle!!

The Troll horror franchise tried to beat that curse by releasing two movies called Troll 3.
They were not successful.
