Discuss The Spy Who Came in from the Cold

A great combination. I didn't know of Ritt prior to this film but it turns out he's directed a number of excellent films in addition to this (Hombre, Long, Hot Summer and Hud). I'll definitely be trying to check out more of his output.

Not quite up there with the TV adaptation of Le Carre's Tinker, Tailor... but never less than engaging.

Don't forget Oskar Werner in the best role I've seen him play. And Sol Kaplan's perfect piano soundtrack. This movie really brought together the best. By far my fav spy flick.

I attribute my remembering almost zero about this film to my mindset at the time of watching it. Perhaps it's forgettable, maybe not. Hud starring Paul Newman was a more distinct, and I'd go so far as to even say indelible, motion picture.
