Many have opined that it was refreshing to see a woman in distress who was not of the "dumb damsel" variety (well, for the most part). And, sure, okay.

The graphic violence seemed over the top, to me.

I also wonder if an elevator full of water would electrocute anyone standing in it; or if the weight, in exceeding the weight limit, might have rendered it inoperable. I wonder about things like that, and it took me out of the story.

All in all, I understand why I'd never even heard of this movie that was released 14 years ago.
