The musical "Falco meets Amadeus" is about two exceptional figures in music history, namely Falco and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mozart and Falco were great geniuses who worked to the point of self-destruction. Falco is not the big superstar, but a staged character - Mozart is portrayed in the musical as a musical genius with a soulmate. The musical looks behind the scenes of show business, which not only has its good (acclaimed performances) but also bad sides. Furthermore, the story is largely based on motifs from the classic Faust story (pact with the devil, fallen girl, etc.).

I musikalen Falco meets Amadeus träffas två österrikiska musikaliska storheter med likartade livsöden och korta levnadslopp. Falco, född Johann "Hans" Hölzel i Wien, väckte stor uppmärksamhet under 1980-talet med sina framgångsrika popsånger och sin glamorösa livsstil. Tvåhundra år tidigare levde hans stora förebild Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart i samma stad - och i många avseenden var deras liv lika, fyllda med alkohol, droger och kvinnor - något som för båda bidrog till att de lämnade jordelivet tidigt. När de båda nu träffas i livet efter detta, skapas skön musik.

Das Musical Falco meets Amadeus feierte im Jahr 2000 im Theater des Westens in Berlin in der Inszenierung von Elmar Ottenthal Premiere. Das Buch verfasste Burkhard Driest, die Musik schrieben Johnny Bertl und Manfred Schweng unter Einbeziehung originaler Falco-Songs von Rob und Ferdi Bolland und Falco. Das Musical bekam die Auszeichnung „Bestes Rockmusical“. Das Musical Falco meets Amadeus handelt von zwei Ausnahmeerscheinungen der Musikgeschichte, nämlich von Falco und Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mozart und Falco waren große Genies, die bis zur Selbstzerstörung arbeiteten. Falco ist nicht der große Superstar, sondern eine inszenierte Figur - als seelenverwandtes Musikgenie wird Mozart im Musical dargestellt.
