confusing near the end

I was fascinated by the entire movie, though the last 20 minutes or so confused me since much of the time I couldn't tell what was happening. Did the audience ever get to see or understand what the payload looked like before the final act? That might have helped. It was unclear exactly when the payload separated from the Icarus and exactly where Capa was in relation to it, until after the fact. Awesome imagery, though. When Mace (Chris Evans) went into the coolant surely that should have disabled him very quickly yet he seemed to last quite some time, coming out and going back. It was much the same when various characters in different parts of the film were exposed to the sun's forces - they appeared to stay conscious far beyond what would be really possible. Artistic license and all that, I suppose. It made for intense story-telling, and that's what it's all about! 4 stars from me. Amazes me I dinna know of this before recently.

That was the only confusing thing for you?
What about things like Capa not telling anyone when he discovered that there's another person on board and instead running into the arms of Pinbacker? Or Pinbacker not turning into dust when Capa sets the sunlight to full blast? Or Icarus being able to override commands which might jeopardise the mission, but not being able to turn itself back into the coolant - even when being removed by an unauthorised person? Or the ship's alarms not going off when the mainframe is about to burn through because it's being removed from the coolant? Or why there is a window in the hydroponics section? Or why the computer doesn't calculate oxygen requirements on a constant basis and tells the crew on its own, when the oxygen isn't sufficient to complete the mission instead of waiting until being asked?

Couldn't you have fucking told someone about that? Or given a regular update on the oxygen situation?
