It's only a light hearted film, but I'm concerned people are living without anything approaching this sort of perception of life.

• Tim only thinks of using his power so he is not 'alone'.
• His sister stays with a crappy boyfriend for years because she can't face being 'alone'. Her depression can only be cured by having a man in her life - and then it is all sunshine and kittens.
• Tim's mother has "no interest in life" without her husband.
  

Tim's father is the only well-adjusted main character, using his power to read literature. Everyone else seemed to have a vast emptiness at their core making it impossible to be satisfied in their own company. Best gets some more babies on the way to consume the finite resources of this overcrowded world on the off chance it makes us feel better about ourselves! :p
