Discuss Edge of Darkness

Perhaps I'm being too generous here, and it probably starts falling apart already at the halfway point. Either way I feel the setup where the daughter "accidentally" gets killed was interesting. It was also interesting to see Gibson start building up his investigation, but this is pretty much where it all falls apart. It doesn't really go anywhere after he has learnt of the conspiracy/plot to kill her daughter, and all that buildup completely goes to waste when he just decides to march over to the bad guys house and waste them. They could've done that scenario an hour sooner, and the viewer really wouldn't have missed anything.

HALF A MOVIE.THATS WHAT THEY WOULD HAVE MISSED.

Man you guys are harsh. This movie is an adaption of the mini series of the same name, and by the same director. Now the mini series really is bleak, but is compelling viewing. I think the point of it all is that going up against these corporate and political guys, particularly if you are trying to do it alone, is doomed to failure. As harsh as that is, I'd say that's how things are.

For a mainstream American audience that would never fly, so the protagonist has to have at least some justice. Hence a lot of the bad guys get wasted along the way. This movie isn't an improvement on the mini series, but I think it works well as an adaptation. Without the controversy surrounding Gibson it might possibly have been a hit.

Campbell is a good director and under rated imo. And Gibson and Winstone are in fine form here, supported by a good cast.

You, Sir, are a typo vandal. -- Would you kindly stop shouting?

I see you replying in most discussion areas I look, but you're always shouting. That makes it kind of hard to read, let alone engage in a discussion.

How did you quote a user that was banned?

It has an interesting ending.
