Discuss The Talented Mr. Ripley

The murder on the boat? When he smacks him on the head with the oar?

I didn't expect that reaction... it was an intense scene, seeing that blood dripping form this head...

And still more murder to come!

Dickie was being particularly obnoxious in his final moments.

Tom pushed him too far, then Dickie pushed Tom over the edge.

I was familiar with the story and knew what to expect, but it is indeed a powerful scene which never fails to shock. Matt Damon is outstanding, surely his best performance to date.

If you haven't seen it the 1960 adaptation Plein Soleil with Alain Delon is also excellent and the murder scenes have similar power.
