Luke Skywalker, Superman, a barmaid from Cheers, the excellent Carpenter and Wyndham and the guy most commonly credited with the genesis of heavy metal music?

A: an incredibly amateurish but entertaining B-movie

I knew it wasn't a classic but at least expected some musical uniqueness with a collaboration between Carpenter and Davies, but only the closing credits packs any sort of punch.

Alas not, and I now know the original is meant to be a lot better.

Yes, and the sequel 'Children of the Damned' wasn't as good but still better than this remake.

I'm not sure where you live but if you live in the US the Movies! channel has 'Village of the Damned' & 'Children of the Damned' on Saturday the 17th at 5:00 pm (pacific) or 8:00 pm (eastern). Here is the schedule for that day:

Thanks. Alas I am in Europe and my channel of choice for accessing old films changed to show only Christmas films instead on that most festive of dates, the 1st of September. Probably not a bad thing as I have a huge backlog of oldies to watch.

Sorry, you can't access that channel, if you don't mind me asking where in Europe?

I love Christmas movies (not all, I have some favs) & I have been watching a few the last couple of weeks.

JOHN CARPENTER remade this? Wow! Sounds promising.

The North Sea seaboard, to use an Americanism. Not near enough to Lapland to put in a good word for you. :p
