When I was in high school, I made these movies in my head (when I should have been working on trigonometric identities or something).

In my mind, it was six movies total instead of three.

The Two Towers was two movies released simultaneously. You could watch either The Tower of Orthanc or The Tower of Cirith Ungol.

The former was much more action packed. The latter had some intense dramatic scenes and a pretty cool spider. My imaginary movie company didn't have CGI technology, so the spider was typically seen only in bits and pieces (aka Jaws). It was the close ups of Sam's face that sold the intensity of the scene.
