讨论 嗜血狂魔

I saw this "movie" on cable and was initially enthused. After all it was part of the F.D.T.D. franchise. That being said I quickly became disillusioned. Apart from the title, Mexican vampires, and a brief mention of the Gecko Brothers, Texas Blood Money had nothing to do with the original. I did find it somewhat interesting that Robert Patrick, (Buck), would later go on to portray Jacob Fuller in the series shown on El Ray Network. Jacob was originally played by Harvey Keitel. Anyway Texas Blood money is basically a straight to video (or d.v.d.) film made to cash in on the original. The one redeeming quality was that Danny Trejo made an appearance. Hangman's Daughter, a prequel, is actually a better bet and highly entertaining. Oh course this is all my opinion. To quote Seth Gecko (George Clooney): "Okay ramblers, let's get rambling"

I kinda like it - it's not as good as the original sure, but it's a fun vampire flick down there with John Carpenter's 'Vampires' and to be honest, I much prefer it to 'The Hangman's Daughter' but then, my taste in films is questionable at best...

I'm not sure I would include Carpenter's Vampires with Texas Blood Money. We all have our own preferences and likes when it comes to movies. Heck I enjoy the drive-in and exploitation flicks of the 1970's and there is something fun about a cheesy horror flick. I just felt that with Dusk Till Dawn 2 there was not much of an effort made. Even with the cameos of Bruce Campbell and Danny Trejo (Razor Charlie from the original) I felt that Blood Money was still lacking. Hangman's daughter was much more in the spirit of the first one and I enjoyed Michael Parks as Ambrose Bierce rather than as Texas Ranger Earl McGraw.

Fair play, JCs Vampires is just one that comes to mind for me - dusty setting, motels kinda similar feel... There's another vampire flick that I can't remember the name of... I think the subtitle was 'Desert Vampires' and the main villain recited the lyrics to Metallica's 'Enter Sandman'... Like you said, each to their own - I didn't hate Hangman's Daughter, I have them all either on dvd or bluray... Maybe a re-watch is in order...!

That's cool. I agree about the setting of Vampires. There is a vampire film called Near Dark. I'm not sure if that was the one you were mentioning. There is also one set in Mexico that starred Jon Bon Jovi. But anyway I thought that the prequel, Hangman's Daughter, fleshed out the characters who would later been seen in Dusk Till Dawn 1 (1996) especially explaining Santanico's background and who she was before. I believe her real name was Quisa or Keesa.

Nah, Near Dark is a classic - love that film! The one with Bon Jon Bozo was Vampires: Los Muertos (a sequel to JCs flick)... Just looked up the one I meant, The Forsaken (I remember on the UK dvd it was called The Forsaken: Desert Vampires) anyway, yeah I will probably watch either the prequel or sequel to FDTD tonight now I'm in the mood for a slice of vampire cheese grinning

I agree that Near Dark is a classic. Who could forget Bill Paxton's performance during the bar scenes. I remember seeing Los Muertos on cable and laughing. I'll have to check out The Forsaken and see if it is on Netflix. Lol at vampire cheese. Nothing beats BBQ, beer, and vampires ha ha.

Well, I've got the beer and vampires on the go... ( not sure where you are and what time it is, but it's beer and vampires o'clock here!! )

Cool beans bro. (It's five o'clock and I am on the east coast). Enjoy your beer and vampires. I almost forgot I thought it was really cool when Johnny Madrid used the knives hidden in the toes of his boots not only to kill some vamps but also to cut the cactus to smear the aloe on Esmeralda's whip wounds.

Nice :) well, I'm in the UK and watching FDTD2 (possibly 3 next) with the missus as she's never seen these two and seems to be enjoying it...

Cool buddy. Glad she is enjoying the flicks. I always thought Jesus's car was cool with the horns on the hood.

Cheer mate! Ok, so after watching this for the first time in a long time, I still liked it... Yeah it's very floored and the obvious trying to copy Tarrantino shots are obvious, the dialogue is almost there, the Nick Wray-esque music... But it was fun! I will say the line "If only your dog had died, we'd have a blues song" or something like that had me laughing, so thanks for inspiring a beer and vampires night Gecko Bro grinning Cheers!! (Hic!)

Good call buddy. I'm glad you're still enjoying the flicks. That is a cool line about the dog. Anytime my friend. Take care .
