Just watched this again with my kids this time (17 & 13)..having seen 1-3 over the course of a few months, this one is such a step up from 2 & 3...I love that it makes fun of itself as well as the other franchise horror references including the Universal classics. Just a fun horror/comedy!

Easily my favourite of the series, followed by the original... The rest I've probably only watched once or twice each... Really didn't care for 'Curse' or 'Cult' at all...

Yeah, I didn't either...'Curse' wasn't horrible, but it wasn't memorable either and 'Cult' was a snoozefest with a concept I didn't care for (mulitple Chucky's?!?!!). Maybe its high time for that long talked about reboot??

A re-boot or re-make? I thought the newer ones were re-boots..? Anyway, I think the problem with the newer ones was the lack of comedy - I really can't take a humourless horror about a killer doll seriously (and I don't really like straight horror anyway) especially when they take themselves seriously...

Maybe a remake? Not that I'm clamouring for one. Chucky is definitely suffering from franchise fatigue!

Yeah, I think they'll maybe pump one more out from this current crop then we'll have a remake of the original that will be heavily sanitised... Never mind.

Yep, Hollywood can't come up with anything original anymore. Even something as vapid as a slasher flick. Dark times (creatively) indeed.
