Just read the book and thought I'd watch the film... Wish I hadn't. The book, whilst no masterpiece, is a solid book with a great pacing that builds up story and characters with great payoff. The film totally ruins that. Starts with the ending, removes characters from the book, and totally changes how the story flows, making Selena into a major character, and almost making Dolores, the title character, into the sidekick. Really disappointing...
