Sting's complaints about the water-slide ending

I watched the documentary The Sweatbox about the making of this movie and Sting is so insufferable in it. He gets so butthurt about the fact that the movie might end with Kuzco getting his water-slide, complaining that it celebrates materialism and blah blah blah
It's a comedy, for crying out loud. So what if Kuzco gets his water-slide? At least Pacha gets one, too. Sting was still so hung-up on the fact that the Disney didn't make the more "serious" movie with Kingdom of the Sun. It makes me all the more glad we get a comedic film in the end.

Yeah he thought if kusco gets his mansion still that he kusco didn't learn anything.
But kusco still ended up building something in the end but he actually shares it with the village instead of just himself.
