You're in the minority by a factor of about 10,000,000. There are actually college courses based on this film alone and I'd guesstimate that it's the most quoted film of all time.

Apparently you attended one of those American schools becasue your calculation is way off. Those college courses are in the US if they exist at all and that is like High school or Middle school EVERYWHERE else.LOL! It is one of the worst films and so overrated by Muricans. I doubt there is any course based on this film. I have seen courses based on Almodaovar's works, Scorcese's and other talented directors who produce art but this insipid stoner film which is so unbelievably stupid is typical of the average American's depth.

I was late to the party on The Big Lebowski and when I finally got to see it, I didn’t get what the hype was about. It’s a fun movie with some great moments (dumping the ashes and it all blowing back in their faces had me in stitches). Also, this movie got me on the White Russians.

I other words HIGHLY OVERRATED. The only funny part was John Goodman's rage. The rest was awful. BUt Americans love them some stoner movies. There actually was one stoner movie I could tolerate which was in fact hilarious I hate Pot heads -they are incredibly annoying and stupid but she was really funny. The film is called Smiley Face.
