This movie is one of the weirdest of Polanski's, and I believe, one of his best.
A man leases an apartment of a woman, who threw herself out of the window. Slowly he begins to turn into her.. But does he? Is he paranoid, mad, depressed, or really being tormented by demons?
You'd have to watch this, to decide for yourself.
It left me with a palpable feeling of unease, which took several days to wear off.
Still affects me the same way.

I've heard a lot about this one but haven't seen it yet. The only Polanksi horror movie I've watched as of yet is Repulsion (which I thought was just okay). I'll have to check out this one!

It's creepy. I seem to recall tiny details like the sound of water dripping in or around the apartment, making me feel claustrophobic. Do check it out!

I agree it's a very disturbing film. In my opinion it was a depiction of a man's personal hell. Reliving the same hideous series of event again and again.

Finally got to see this gem. What a creepy movie, and I just love the story by Roland Topor, himself a most interesting character in life. Films where the protagonist struggles with their identity or experiences dissociative personality disorders have always appealed to me, from Persona to Fight Club.
Polanski does a pretty decent job as the tenant, as he was in the comedy horror The Fearless Vampire Killers. There are times in the film where you can't help but think of his previous psychological thriller horror films such as Repulsion or Rosemary's Baby, both set in moody walk-up apartments. Some call this film the third in his Apartment Trilogy.
Highly recommended for fans of Polanski. 8/10

Rosemary's Baby is pretty overrated, in my lil' opinion. The part where they show Beelzebub actually copulating with her put a chill in me though... on the other hand, Repulsion.... (kisses hand and moves hand away from face)
