Worst of the Sequels

Awful movie and an embarrassment to the series. The gimmicky space setting isn't even the #1 reason why it's so weak. The writing, directing and acting were all way below par. Even Harry Manfredini's score wasn't very good.
If only the F13th series ended with Part VI. That would have been a cool final film. Part VII was okay but all the movies after that were terrible.

Worse than Jason Goes To Hell? JGTH is the only one I still haven't been able to sit through or start and come back to later... btw, I watched Part 4 last night - it's been so long since I've seen any of them I might go and re-watch the rest

Go for it! I've been rewatching the series also. Good fun!
JGTH was indeed bad, but i did like the opening scene and some of the references to other horror films such as Evil Dead, Creepshow and the end sequence featuring Freddy's glove. I also liked Jason's look.
Jason X really didn't do anything for me personally.

I've just been watching some YouTube clips (best kills etc) and just realised that although I have all of them on dvd, I've never actually watched "...Part 8 Jason Takes Manhattan" ... I think that'll be my next one, cheers!

I liked it a lot. It felt more like a direct sequel to Part 8 since it has a few of the same beats, with a bit of part 7 thrown in (a powerful adversary albeit briefly this time). It's by no means perfect, in fact its a bit amateurish. But its still fun watching Jason do what he does best and I loved the upgrade.
Worst sequel to me would be JGTH. Felt like a video game and added a lot of unnecessary stuff to the mythos. Close second would be part 5 though Feldman's cameo was cool. Those two I wouldn't mind if I never saw again. But the rest, including Jason X, has replay value.

I'd say Jason goes to hell was the worst. So random and incomplete.

Jason X is really fun. I know it's not a popular movie, but I've always enjoyed it. Part VII and JGTH are really bad, though, and I've never been crazy about Part IV.

I guess I'm in the minority, I think part V is the worst...although Jason Goes to Hell is a close 2nd (I guess I like a little more "real Jason" in my Friday sequels then these allowed).
I just rewatched Jason X courtesy of my STARZ app and I gotta say...in 17 years time I've seen SO MUCH worse horror. True the acting from SOME of the cast is weak (but Lexa Doig & Peter Mensah rocked it!) & Manfredini's score leaves a lot to be desired, but its a fun little campy sequel...and the special FX still hold up pretty good today. Space FX are never cheap. And Uber Jason still looks cool as all he11!
