Charlie's mom and stepdad were so annoying, they acted like him believing in Santa was murder. He's a little kid that's what he's supposed to believe in. And Neil was way too involved with the custody issues and how Charlie's real parents wanted to raise him. He seemed to be the only mad that Charlie still believed in Santa, and his wife just went along with him.
