It plays well on repeat viewings as you see elements you did not notice previously.
The elevator crash in the movie. One poster at YouTube thought much of the film could have become about the people trapped in the elevator attempting to get out. But that was a confined setting and the scene out in the open with the people trying to get by chair and rope was far more spectacular and better.
This was somewhat of an "event movie" when it was released and relied on a "Sensurround" audio system which were giant plywood speaker cabinets they placed in front of the theater stage. It was a majorly big deal when it was released and I don't think people trapped in an elevator would have had nearly the same effect the studio was going for.
I put it down too already. It was at YouTube I read this bad idea ( written by someone else--like Spock said on 'Star Trek' "I only report the legend I do not create it!" or something like that) . There is a short video of the crash scene at YT and the bad comment was made there!
