Hi! It looks like both titles were used in Poland. When was it first released? Who is the original Polish distributor?

Hi! The correction concerns the correct translation of the word into the plural used in Polish. "Przebudzenie" is a single case, "Przebudzenia" (as intended by the title) is the plural, more than one awakening. Regardless of the date of appearance at the distributor, "Przebudzenia" it is the correct name of the movie title. ps. Sorry for the late reply.

I understand, but it really has to be the title of the first Polish release: https://www.themoviedb.org/bible/movie#59f3b1749251414f2000000d Most international titles are not a perfect translation and that's fine.

Ok, but note that this is a mistake. At present, the title of this film is known under a different name. On Polish websites, it is difficult to find information under the title of distributor. Especially considering that there is another movie: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/13483-awake?language=pl-PL. I'm not trying to prove anything. I don't want to insist, but I have the impression that the original name is just a grammar mistake or the distributor's ignorance.
ps. Maybe they shouldn't refer to competition, but: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099077/ or well-known portal in Poland: https://www.filmweb.pl/film/Przebudzenia-1990-1035 and I can multiply them...
Anyway, for another example (even a moron translation of a Polish distributor), we have different with this film: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/218-the-terminator?language=pl-PL. But here, thankfully, it's unchanged :)
Best regards

I just want to add that other databases have different guidelines, or wrong titles (too). I think we can close this report, but I'd be happy to revisit the issue if anyone can find proof that it was first released in Polish under a different title.
I changed it since you brought up that we had the wrong title. Sorry.

FINE. But now there are at least two wrong titles on the portal ... Unfortunately, in this case, correctness is not reliability.
If you follow this path, it is also bad here: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/8054-the-imaginarium-of-doctor-parnassus?language=pl-PL

I'm assuming you're implying "Parnassus - Człowiek, który oszukał diabła" is the original Polish title. I looked into it, but the posters, trailers, press kit, the official website and the distributor's website alternatively used both titles. Any chance you have access to the on-screen opening title?

I don't know if it's a good trail, but I found it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8RMOZZcQxs The premiere in Poland is January 8, 2010.
And here you have another inconsistency in the title: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/5548-robocop?language=pl-PL Here you can be sure that initially in Poland the title was: "Superglina". After translating into English: "Supercop".
I just wanted to add that for someone who is a layman, titles like the ones above will not help find information about the film. Nobody in Poland just uses them anymore, so nobody will enter them in the search engine ...
