I agree. The community needs to revise this, all releases in physical or digital media are with updated titles, moreover in several languages (including my country) keeping the original titles in the collection does not make any sense today.
Just out of curiosity: If some joker bought the rights to classical movies like The Godfather and re-released them digitally with completely new titles (Mafia Mayhem in New York could be a new title), would you want us to use the new titles here in place of the original? I know this is putting the issue on the edge a bit, but it would be one possible consequence of the big change in rules that you propose.
The main point that made me open the discussion is that in Brazil, and I believe that in other countries the same thing happens, the Star Wars Title of the original films were translated and have not been for a long time. For example: Star Wars was "Guerra nas Estrelas" but it has been popular for a long time and is released by the original title and translated only in the subtitle: "Star Wars: Uma Nova Esperança".
I think it would be interesting if they allowed the change to the title at least in other languages.
