That would probably look awful they would have to change the aspect ratio (the DVD release is in 4:3) and no dolby or DTS multichannel soundtrack (certainly with the first two movies ,most theatres at the time did not have the dolby surround format so what was used was the original mono soundtrack allowing most theaters to show the movie with all sound mixed for a mono system so the score plays out as dolby 2.0 on DVD which can be enhanced to multi channel using pro logic II or Neo :6

Oh is that what you meant maybe they were forced by Fox or Disney to remove it ,who probably get so fed up with fans asking for the release of the OT in their original theatrically released version.
