Julie Adams, the actress memorably stalked by Gill Man in the famous underwater sequence, has passed away aged 92. R.I.P.

Wow, that's sad! So sorry I missed that, until now. You would think her passing would have made a bigger "splash" in entertainmet news. Haven't heard a word until you posted here. Thanks for letting us all know.

A 92 YEAR OLD WOMAN WHOS MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT WAS BEING STALKED BY THE GILLMAN ALMOST 70 YEARS AGO...YEAH DEFINATELY SHOULD HAVE BEEN MAJOR NEWS.

Agree, Lima! Too sad! A career spanning over 70 years with hundreds of acting gigs, including a TV series as Jimmy Stewart's wife, to her resume, deserves more than a page 9 obituary. Thanks, too, rudely_murray for your OP!

Classy lady. I remember her best as Perry Mason's client. One of the few cases he lost.

Yes, she was very attractive in her screen appearances. If you get MeTV, you can see her swimming with the Creature again, on Saturday night, February 16th, 2019 at 8pm (eastern) on Svengoolie.

I'm sure Svengoolie viewership will see quite a jump with that broadcast. It's been probably five or so years (and via Svengoolie) since I last saw Creature, so will try to catch that airing.
RIP

Hopefully her passing will be included in the Oscars' annual In Memoriam segment. Odds are probably high that it will be.

Thanks for the Svengoolie reminder, genplant, which it looks like you deleted. Definitely watched Julie, the Creature, and Sven all together, in that order, lol. Worth the time and view.

I was there too. Liked the brief tribute Sven paid to Julie before he began the episode.

The broadcast was the perfect way to pay tribute to her on her passing.
I've just figured out that Julie was 27 when this movie was made 65 years ago.

So everyone who's doing anything significant in films presently, it's not supposed to interest anyone and be considered to matter in the future, just because the actor or actress winds up living to be old and times have changed? (And, meanwhile, every role in every movie couldn't be effectively cast with someone else?)
There continue to be many people, of all ages, who enjoy and appreciate old films and who continue to be interested in some of the people who appeared in them. In Julie Adams case, she had famous moments in an iconic "creature" film of decades ago that continues to be well remembered.
