Was the way Emily (Rooney Mara's character) ended up justified? Did she deserve to be in that position?
In a mental asylum, drugged and zombified... indefinitely?

I felt the same at the end. She definitely deserved to be put away, but that was a little extreme. They could’ve just kept her there indefinitely and prescribed some placebos

It's been a while since I have seen this, so correct me if I am remembering wrong- but didn't she set the whole thing up and plan to kill her husband? Then -Yes it was justified and she deserved to be in that position. In a mental asylum, drugged and zombified... indefinitely.

I think we agree with you about being locked up indefinitely. It’s the drugging part that seemed a little extreme.

The drugging was so she could never be able to plan/do anything like that again.

It beats jail, no? And lifetime sentences are a thing, which she deserved. Murdering a man and doing it to his mother that was friendly with as well.
What makes me feel somewhat hesitant is she told the true story to Jude Law guy. Not just for being nice but without it justice may not have come. I haven't figured out if it made sense that she did though.
