This is a wonderful Mary Pickford film. I watched it multiple times years ago and particularly enjoyed the parts featuring the Pollyanna (Pickford) and Jimmy Bean (Howard Ralston) child characters interacting together. They're magical as a pair, seeming like the completely real deal - not like watching actors performing. I completely "bought" the two loveable characters' unique and special bond. Pickford and Ralston are equally the heart of this movie.

Although Miss Pickford was, in real life, 27 years old at the time of filming, she looks and seems fully believably no older than 12 or thereabouts. Howard Ralston was in his mid teens at the time, but, like Pickford, looks entirely convincingly like a pre-teen.
