How silly was it that Terry Silver wanted revenge?

It was one tournament that was won far and square. He was willing to kill Daniel to get another shot. It seems like he should've been training the boys for next year.

I guess they were going for Terry felt dishonored. But he took it to far.

I think you're confusing Kreese and Silver. Kreese was shamed and embarrassed, but his actions after the tournament very effectively killed any goodwill his students had toward him. Silver stepped in later due to his bond with Kreese from the war, and wanted revenge on Kreeses behalf.
