Discuss The Flight of the Phoenix

I really love this movie. James Stewart plays a crusty pilot who is flying passengers across the Sahara. Ultimately the plane crashes due to a sandstorm. The passengers have to basically rebuild the plane to get out of their predicament or die.

Can't say much more as it will give the entire movie away. (plus I need to take a writing course anguished

Great casting: James Stewart, Richard Attenborough, Peter Finch, Hardy Kruger, Ernest Borgnine. George Kennedy, Dan Duryea

Have you seen the remake? Starring Dennis Quaid? It was ok, but nothing special...

I haven't seen the original... I'll check it out...

I have seen it. It was good but I prefer the original.

Despite myself. I really enjoyed this, not least because it was mostly character-driven.

It was probably 20 odd minutes on the long side, but it still made for fascinating entertainment with regards how humanity deals with a devastating situation, and how they react to that problem and its various solutions.

Hardy Kruger, was my favourite character given that he was the driving force behind rebuilding the shattered aircraft while the other guys seemingly just waited to die in the sand.

I haven't seen the reboot, and have no wish to do so.
