Discuss Wish

This movie is a perfect example of what an entertaining adventure should not be. There is nothing in this movie that I can define as adventurous, thrilling or entertaining. This story feels claustrophobic, happens on a small little island with very limited number of sets that constantly repeat themselves. It's not claustrophobic as Encanto, but very similar. I mean, what happened to the sense of adventure in Disney movies? Just few years ago it was still important in the movies like Moana, for example, but now there is no need to go outside of your own small and closed space.

Where is the sense of exploration and the awe that Disney heroes need to experience? Where is the life altering events that disrupt protagonist's life and cause him to go outside of his box into the world and live through incredible and amazing adventures, to fail and to succeed, to experience wild emotions and to make life or death decisions? Now even the stories are super small and claustrophobic. Where is the imagination? Where is the ambition? Why are the recent Disney movies revolve around politics and the hero that needs to correct a socio-political injustice, instead of being just entertaining adventure in which the heroes discover the world and many important things about themselves and others? The whole premise of the Wish should be the first 15 minutes of a much better movie, this is just the exposition and the conflict.

Old Disney movies were trying to leave the viewers with some insight, with some interesting message, something satisfying that will make you think about the movie for a long time. But new Disney is just flat boring about either a personal hygiene or about some class struggle. WTF are you doing, Disney? Where are all good writers? Why do your movies suck?
