There's this one scene I don't quite understand with this film, Mathilda is sitting on the street floor when then a group of boys obviously being dicks want Mathilda to pay them saying it's like a parking metre for a car. For some bizarre reason Mathilda agrees to give them her money, see actually has loads of money on her which she found earlier from her old flat and then very strangely boys just run off like they've been spooked.

I don't get it, this scene just makes no sense?! Wouldn't it been better if Mathilda actually had her own gun on her and threaten the boys to leave her be? It really doesn't make sense for her to just be fine paying them.
