You look over at your date that seems to want to go but you weren’t that interested so you say, “No thanks,” and continue to walk around the carnival. You and your date play a few games like Whack a Mole and you try to impress your date by hitting the hammer on the gondola to push the striker to hit the bell. You won a couple cheap prizes that you spent way too much on trying to win, but it was fun so you figured it was worth it. As you walk around the carnival grounds, you were coming back to the barn where the Haunted Hayride was. “Hey, isn’t that where the ‘haunted hayride’ was” she said with a spooky voice.

“Yeah, lame if you ask me.” You replied. “Why, it’ll be fun.” “Just a cheap ride where they hide speakers with ghost noises.” You replied again. “Oh come on, it’ll be fun. Besides, we get to be alone in the dark.” Your date hinted. “Yeah, in the dark with a creepy old clown.” You jokingly replied back.

But when you approached the barn and looked up, it was a House of Mirrors. So you look around for the twisted clown and see a man sitting on a chair leaning against the barn.

You walk up to the man and ask about the Haunted Hayride.

“Uh? No such ride, pal. This is the House of Mirrors.” The carnie replied. You told him about the twisted clown the messed up teeth and he just sighed. Uninterested in your story of haunted apple orchards and hayrides, he asked, “you want to go into the House of Mirrors or what? I aint got all day to listen to yous talk.”

“Not have all day? What else do you have to do?” You thought, but didn’t say anything. Instead, you looked over at your date who just shrugged. You asked, “How much?”

“5 tickets a pop. That means each of yous.”

“Of course it does, dumb carnie,” you thought but again, didn’t say.
