Sandra Bullock is a real feast for the eyes in this movie. In every last single scene but one. The old folks home scene. She has on a large grey wig, plastic or thin rubber prosthetics around her beautiful cheeks to look older. She also acts older. She looks like a nightmare.Terrible scene and it makes everything before and after in this movie (maybe her even entire career) immaterial. We cannot get back into her character again after you see this.
I wish I had been on the set of this film --here is what I would have done instead. I would have had her look the same way she does throughout the rest of the movie. But just act older!! Think real, real hard about this people. How much superior it would have been if by a more serious countenance and perhaps a slightly different voice Sandra had suddenly come out so much older though she looked the very same. What a true tour-de-force of great acting that would have been. Now as for her being famous in this film as Grace--no problem as there is such a thing as lookalikes. What about her age. Sandra was 41 years old about at this film's making. That guy pretending to be Grace's son could have been just 30. She could have had him at 15. What about old folks home age requirements? That home could also be for disabled and Grace was in a wheelchair. Besides, Grace looks anywhere from 29-55 she could have actually claimed to be 62 and just took real good care of herself. Bullock is nearly 60 in real life now and still looks great. Though many have not trusted her to do a movie since she did this career-wrecking scene and refuse to watch her any of her movies in the last 16 years for fear and horror she would do something like this again. Her popularity went down after this movie. Again think of what a tour-de-force of outstanding performing it would have been for Sandra if she just came out much older by merely acting and talking it and not looking it at all.

Well, I have never been a big fan of hers but I wouldn't say her career after this went downhill. 5 years after this she won an Oscar (2010) & was nominated once again in 2014.

For a while it (her career) did not permanently.

Nonetheless, all please think of what I said about her just acting older in that scene rather than looking any older.

I don't think she ever did anything like that again.

About this rare terrible Bullock scene. To quote Lincoln on Star Trek. There was nothing good about this bad scene "except its ending". Bullock might have even went deep inside herself after seeing what this looked like on film. It was just horrible of her. That could also be why she has been a sex goddess on film ever since. If only I had been there to help stop her from this total mistake.

To all men reading. If you are not a fan of Sandra Bullock as of yet you are missing out on highly great sexy viewing (save for the fake old lady scene she did in this film). She is a real feast for the eyes. God-made beauty indeed!

There is nobody beautiful on screen quite like Sandra Bullock.

Thank Jesus himself (Bible is accurate see my other postings) that there was no third film of this MC screen saga. She just might have tried this horrible disguised, fake characterization again. You see how very popular this ugly stunt wan't by the fact that she doesn't try anything like this in another film made since that she highly blesses with her sexy and beautiful presence.

Didn't Spock (Leonard Nimoy) only act older in 'The Deadly Years" on Star Trek? Beautiful Sandra should have tried a similar acting bit (in this movie) to NImoy's.

you are forgetting about anne hathaway & halle berry, barbarian12

I am not!!!!! She beats those women in her uniqueness and her beauty is great. Hathaway is not even that striking. And the moniker is Benton12 please!

Back to original main point. Imagine if Bullock kept her God-given beautiful face in the scene and just acted older.
