帝和魔鬼梅菲斯特（爱米尔·强宁斯 Emil Jannings 饰）以浮士德的灵魂为赌注打赌，梅菲斯特坚称饱读诗书满腹经纶的大学士浮士德（格斯塔·埃克曼 Gösta Ekman 饰）会在欲望的引诱之下日渐堕落，而上帝则相信浮士德的理性终究会打败欲望。梅菲斯特化身成为一条黑狗来到了浮士德的身边，并且成为了随时随地满足他任何愿望的仆人。在梅菲斯特的带领下，浮士德返老还童成为了神采奕奕的青年，并且邂逅了单纯善良的玛格丽特（卡米拉·霍恩 Camilla Horn 饰），在梅菲斯特的作弄之下，玛格丽特坠入了爱河，却在意外之中误杀了自己的母亲，她的哥哥亦死在了浮士德的手中。绝望的玛格丽特最终因为杀死了自己的孩子而被关入了监狱之中，而浮士德的旅途却并未走到尽头。

　　影片在冰岛取景拍摄，是索科洛夫“人的力量”系列电影的最后一部，之前三部分别是关于希特勒的《莫洛赫 Molokh》，关于列宁的《遗忘列宁 Taurus》和关于日本裕仁天皇的《太阳》。

本片结合了动画与真人，故事主人翁只是街上路人，被诱到剧场后台，一步步扮演起浮士德，和魔鬼达成一宗命定的交易：以灵魂换取智慧与法力。

　　影片并不是歌德原著的改编，场景穿越现实与剧场，木偶、纸偶与粘土全部用上。魔鬼有着浮士德的面容，过场小丑能文能武，但也受命运播弄，最妙上帝只是不堪一击的纸片。性与食物都变作不堪入目，更不可餐。影片充满超现实的奇思妙想，视觉效果一流，但节奏缓慢，主题有点空洞。

When that success leads Foster to run for governor, Beal's unearthly hold on him turns the previously honest man corrupt, much to the displeasure of his wife and his steadfast minister.

Vincent Salinger, an edgy uninspired poet, fumes at being spurned by his publisher. Suspecting his work and life mean nothing, Vincent seeks new inspiration. An unexpected visit from quasi-demonic friend of poetry introduces Vincent to a clever East-European escort girl who thinks up a literary hoax for success but at the risk of Vincent losing his integrity and identity. Things become more complicated when a rival muse falls in love with Vincent and Vincent's hoax suddenly materializes to haunt him.

‘La course à l’abîme’ is a depiction of the final ride into hell from ‘La Damnation de Faust’ (1846) by Hector Berlioz.

Disillusioned with life, the aged philosopher Faust calls upon Satan to help him. The devil Méphistophélès appears and strikes a bargain with the philosopher: he will give him youth and the love of the beautiful Marguerite, if Faust hands over his soul. Faust agrees, and Méphistophélès arranges matters so that Marguerite loses interest in her suitor Siébel and becomes infatuated with Faust. Faust initially seems to love Marguerite in return, but soon abandons her. Her brother Valentin returns from the war and is furious to find his sister pregnant. Will Faust repent his destructive actions, and can his soul, and Marguerite's, be saved?

REAL Zombies, Vampires, Witches and Demons - NOTHING is off limits in La La Land. The turnout yields not only dedicated actors and musicians who can't get a break, but a legion of seemingly successful people willing to sign in blood not to attain immortality or world peace - but for material things like money, houses, cars and diamonds or even lesser things like a gun you never have to re-load. Ultimately, Kai Blackwood, an aspiring rock star is chosen and embarks on a nefarious path of real-life occult practices following the instructions laid out in the ancient book 'Le Grande Grimoire' and proceeds to LITERALLY sell his soul to the Devil.

“Faust Part 2” reveals the modern Faust in a romantic interlude, an idyll (from the Greek idein, "to see"); also, a journey of the id. A sense of story is inferred through the complex interweaving of human gesture, expression, and bodily movement within vibrantly shifting colours and rhythmic development, creating multiple levels of metaphorical meaning. A collaborative work with paintings by Emily Ripley and soundtrack by Joel Haertling.
