Den djærve sømand Skipper Skræk, med hang til majspibe og spinat, ankommer til den lille havneby Grønkøbing. Her falder han pladask for den underskønne Olivia og bliver venner med hamburger-elskeren Wimpy. Uheldigvis er Olivia allerede forlovet med den grumme pirat Brutus der har alt andet end reelle hensigter - både hvad angår byen og Olivia.
