Bohatý Victor Pivert je večne uponáhľaný, nevrlý a netolerantný, dá sa povedať, že až xenofóbny človek. A ponáhľa sa aj teraz - na svadbu svojej céry Antoinette. Cestou však Victor zažije sériu neuveriteľných dobrodružstiev, ktoré ho predsudkov raz navždy zbavia, a to originálnym a extrémne vtipným spôsobom: Zistí, že jeho starý, verný šofér Salomon je Žid a Victora považujú za černocha, pretože má tvár od sadzí z výfuku. Po havárii auta Victor stretne Araba Mohamesa Larbi Slimanea, ktorý je na úteku pred komandom zabijakov, vyslaným z jeho rodnej krajiny. Z toho všetkého už zmätený Pivert sa k nemu pridá. Obaja sa prestroja za rabínov. Židovská rodina, organizujúca megalomanskú rodinnú oslavu Bar Micvah, Piverta a Slimana považujú za rabína Jakoba a jeho učňa, svojich čestných hostí. Xenofóbny Pivert sa tak ocitne uprostred fascinujúcej židovskej oslavy. A s Arabom na krku! Naháňačky, bitky a zámeny osôb nemajú konca.

In 1944 Poland, a Jewish shop keeper named Jakob is summoned to ghetto headquarters after being caught out after curfew. While waiting for the German Kommondant, Jakob overhears a German radio broadcast about Russian troop movements. Returned to the ghetto, the shopkeeper shares his information with a friend and then rumors fly that there is a secret radio within the ghetto.

Her brother grabs a rifle to shoot the Arab. Can anything be put right?

In the mid-1950s, mayor Zwischenzahl is killed on the day of his inauguration in a West German town. The killer is Ruth Bodenheim, a Jewish woman, who wanted to avenge the death of her parents. Zwischenzahl, a former SA member, was apparently involved in the deportation of her parents to a concentration camp during the war. Ruth cannot bear the horrible events and the death of her parents and wants to open the eyes of the town′s residents.
