פרי מייסון נעזר בצוות קבוע: מזכירתו הנאמנה דלה סטריט והבלש הפרטי פול דרייק, שאמנם היה בלש במקצועו, אולם לא הוא שפתר את התעלומות, אלא רק סייע לפרי מייסון במעקבים וחקירות.
ממולו פעלו חוקרי המשטרה הסמל הולקומב (השוטר הרע) והמפקח טרייג (השוטר הטוב). נגדו הופיע פרקליט המחוז הקשוח והרגזן המילטון ברגר.
בשנת 1957 החלה סדרת הטלוויזיה המבוססת על ספרי פרי מייסון, כשאת דמותו גילם השחקן ריימונד בר (הזכור לצופי השנים הראשונות של הטלוויזיה הישראלית כ"איירונסייד", הבלש בכיסא הגלגלים). הסדרה זכתה להצלחה עצומה ונמשכה עד לשנת 1966. שנים רבות לאחר מכן, מ-1985 עד ל-1993, שודרה סדרת ההמשך שגם בה כיכב ריימונד בר.

There are two surviving, and very different versions - an English language (dubbed) version with 13 x 28 minute episodes and a German language version with 4 x 80 minute episodes. They are very different edits, with different musical soundtracks and many different scenes, which is all of great interest to fans of this series. Both are available on DVD, although sadly the German version does not have English subtitles available (and vice-versa).

The trio who graduated from the same high school moved to Tokyo from Akita, and they start living together in a rented house at Denenchofu, however.....
