South Park, Amerikan "Comedy Central" programında 1997 yılından beri yayınlanan bir komedi animasyon serisidir. Ülkemizde de Türkçe altyazılı olarak Cnbc-e ve e2 kanalları tarafından yayınlanır.

South Park'ın ortaya çıkış hikayesi şöyledir; Colorado Üniversitesi film bölümü öğrencileri Matt Stone ve Trey Parker, "Jesus vs. Frosty" adlı bir kısa animasyon film yapar. Şans eseri bu animasyon Fox Network yöneticileri tarafından izlenir ve Matt ve Trey'e ünlülere yılbaşı kartı olarak göndermek için bir kısa bir film yapmalarını teklif eder. Teklif üzerine Matt ve Trey "The Spirit of Christmas" adlı yeni bir animasyon film yapar. Bu yeni animasyonda internette çok hızlı bir şekilde yayılır ve çok beğenilir. The Spirit of Christmas, Matt ve Trey'e Comedy Central kapılarını açar ve 13 Ağustos 1997 tarihinde South Park'ın ilk bölümü olan "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe" bölümü yayınlanır.

Dizi hikayesi, South Park kasabasında yaşayan dört çocuk olan Eric Cartman, Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Kenny McCormick ve kasaba halkı arasında geçmektedir.
