Explorando el mundo de la música clásica.

Kousei Arima era un pianista genial hasta que la repentina muerte de su madre le quitó la capacidad de tocar. Cada día era aburrido para Kousei. Pero entonces conoce a una violinista llamada Kaori Miyazono que tiene un estilo de tocar excéntrico. ¿Podrá el sonido sincero del violín de la chica hacer que el chico vuelva a tocar el piano?

Hajime Aono solía vivir para el sonido de su violín. Desde que era joven, había admirado a su padre, un violinista de renombre mundial, quien lo inspiró a elegir él mismo el instrumento. Pero luego del amargo divorcio de sus padres, Aono jura no volver a jugar nunca más y se dirige a la escuela secundaria sin una dirección o perspectiva. Durante una clase de educación física, el poco atlético Aono es golpeado en la cara con una pelota y termina en la enfermería. Allí, conoce a la descarada Ritsuko Akine, quien comienza a tocar el violín en la habitación, creyendo que está sola. Sin embargo, después de un incidente pasado, ha habido rumores que afirman que Akine es una acosadora, lo que la ha aislado de sus compañeros, un hecho que Aono desconocía. Akine sueña con inscribirse en una escuela con una orquesta, pero su forma de tocar amateur y su falta de conocimiento musical irritan enormemente a Aono.

“The Bell Telephone Hour” was a musical variety show that aired on “NBC” TV from 12 January 1959 to 14 June 1968 that showcased the best in Broadway, Classical, Concert, Jazz and Popular music each week. The series had its’ own house band appropriately named the “Bell Telephone Orchestra”. The show also had its’ own theme song being the “Bell Waltz” composed by “Donald Voorhees” who was also the show's Orchestra conductor. Some of the greatest violinists of the 1960’s performed on this show that aired in the old “Black & White” format. Some of these great violinists included “Erica Mornin”, “Isaac Stern", "Michael Rabin", "Ruggiero Ricci", "Yehudi Menuhin" and "Zino Francesacatti". From time to time some of the great singers and bandleaders of the 1960’s would perform on the show as well. Some of these were “Bing Crosby”, “Gordon MacRae”, “John Gary”, “Leslie Uggams”, “Mary Martin”, “Nelson Eddy”, “Patti Page” and “Roy Rogers”. The TV show followed on the heels of its’ predecessor with the same name on “NBC” radio that aired from 29 April 1940 to 1958 on Monday nights at 8 PM. The name of the show was derived from its’ Major sponsor “Bell Telephone Laboratories”. The TV version began airing on Friday nights at 8:30 PM once a month. It later was given it’s same time slot now airing every other week alternating with another show on the other weeks such as News shows and specials. The show time slot changed quite often over the years. In September 1960 it aired at 9 PM and in September 1961 it moved to 9:30 PM. In October 1963 it moved to Tuesday nights at 10 PM, September 1965 it moved to Sunday night at 6:30 PM and in September 1967 it made its' final move back to Friday night at 10 PM.

Shinichi Chiaki is a first class musician whose dream is to play among the elites in Europe. Coming from a distinguished family, he is an infamous perfectionist; not only is he highly critical of himself, but of others as well. The only thing stopping Chiaki from leaving for Europe is his fear of flying. As a result, he's grounded in Japan.

During his 4th year at Japan's top music university, Chiaki happens to meet Noda Megumi—or as she refers to herself, Nodame. On the surface, she seems to be an unkempt girl with no direction in life. However, when Chiaki hears Nodame play the piano for the first time, he is in awe at the kind of music she plays. To Chiaki's dismay, Nodame moves into the apartment next to his and finds out that she is head-over-heels in love with him.

The Vienna New Year's Concert (Neujahrskonzert der Wiener Philharmoniker) is an annual concert of classical music performed by the Vienna Philharmonic on the morning of New Year's Day in Vienna, Austria. The concert occurs at the Musikverein at 11:15. The orchestra performs the same concert programme on 30 December, 31 December, and 1 January but only the last concert is regularly broadcast on radio and television.
