Bronx i 1960erne er et hårdt miljø at vokse op i for en ung knægt som Calogero, der ender med at blive fanget mellem to mænd. Efter Calogero ser Sonny skyde en anden mand, nægter han at vidne og vinder dermed Sonnys tillid. Hurtigt lokkes han ind i en verden på den forkerte side af loven.
