Spillefilmen Sex and the City er baseret på den sensationelle successerie af samme navn, og den genoptager historien fire år efter seriens afslutning. Vi finder en mere moden Carrie Bradshaw i et fast kærlighedsforhold med Mr. Big, og deres bryllupsplaner begynder at tage form. Den længe ventede begivenhed planlægges sammen med veninderne, og det hele tegner lyst og lykkeligt. Men Carrie må pludseligt sande, at det virkelige liv ikke er som et eventyr.

I stil med Paris, je t'aime forsøger denne film at beskrive en by ved hjælp af en masse små fortællinger. Denne gang er emnet for historierne New York. Eneste krav var, at hver historie skulle optages på én dag, klippes på en uge og skulle handle om et bestemt område i New York. Allen Hughes, Mira Nair, Brett Ratner og Shekhar Kapur er blandt de instruktører, der påtog sig opgaven, og så får Natalie Portman også sin debut bag kameraet!

Producenterne bag "Amelie" har samlet nogle af verdens bedste filmfolk, som hver har lavet deres fortolkning af kærlighed i Paris. Det er der kommet i alt 18 små historier om kærlighed ud af, som foregår i hver deres kvarter i Paris, og som tager os med på den ultimative tur rundt i byernes by. Lige fra Walter Salles' rørende fortælling om en mors kærlighed, til Coen-brødrenes morsomme, fortabte turist på undergrundsstationen og horror-instruktøren Wes Cravens fortolkning af Pere Lachaise kirkegården...

Mens han venter på at få et nyt hjerte, tilbringer den dødsyge danser Pierre sin tid med at kigge ud over sit elskede Paris fra sin balkon - somme tider sammen med sin ustyrlige søster, en enlig mor til tre børn. De brudstykker af menneskers hverdag, de observerer fra balkonen, blomstrer ud til fortællinger om livet, kærligheden og den aldrig sovende by Paris.

Hr. Hulot er arbejdsløs og bruger det meste af dagen på at drive rundt, indtil han skal hente sin nevø og følge ham hjem. Nevøen bor hos sine forældre i et smart og højteknologisk hus, som den gammeldags Hulot bestemt ikke kommer godt ud af det med. Samtidig forsøger resten af familien at finde et job til den mærkværdige, sjove og uheldige dagdriver. Og det er ikke verdens nemmeste job.

Her er endnu en film i I Love You-serien. Efter en tur til Paris, New York og Rio skal vi nu til Berlin. Ligesom de foregående film består Berlin, I Love You af en række kortfilm, der udspiller sig i samme by. I en af historierne spiller Keira Knightley en kvinde i et flygtningecenter, der tager en lille dreng med hjem til sin usympatiske mor, spillet af Helen Mirren. En anden af historierne er skrevet af Neil La Bute og instrueret af Til Schweiger!

The story line of each segment focuses on an encounter of love in a different neighborhood of the city, demonstrating the distinctive qualities and character of that location. The film serves to bridge gaps between cultures, educating and entertaining the audience, while celebrating unique and universal expressions of love.

A train speeds through the country on its way to Berlin, then gradually slows down as it pulls into the station. It is very early in the morning, about 5:00 AM, and the great city is mostly quiet. But before long there are some signs of activity, and a few early risers are to be seen on the streets. Soon the new day is well underway. It's just a typical day in Berlin, but a day full of life and energy.

In the middle of a crowded city the paths of two strangers, a man and a woman, collide. This accidental, chance occurrence sets in motion a chain of events that sees the two strangers embark on a night of adventure and connection that challenges their separate lives.

Morning reveals New York harbor, the wharves, the Brooklyn Bridge. A ferry boat docks, disgorging its huddled mass. People move briskly along Wall St. or stroll more languorously through a cemetery. Ranks of skyscrapers extrude columns of smoke and steam. In plain view. Or framed, as through a balustrade. A crane promotes the city's upward progress, as an ironworker balances on a high beam. A locomotive in a railway yard prepares to depart, while an arriving ocean liner jostles with attentive tugboats. Fading sunlight is reflected in the waters of the harbor. The imagery is interspersed with quotations from Walt Whitman, who is left unnamed.

A boat trip in the Helsinki archipelago: images of water, light and people on the cruise. The same people are met in the city in different situations: at work, with their family, in conversations with a circle of friends, meditating and figuring out their duties. Work and aspirations are important and encouraging to them. They all seem to have something personal to say about their time, their views and their imaginations.

"The theme of the film HIDDEN CITIES is personal urban perceptions, which we call 'the city'. The city, as a living organism, reflecting social processes and interactions, economic relations, political conditions and private matters. In the city, human memories, desires and tragedies find expression in the form of designations and marks engraved in house walls and paving slabs. But what the city really is under this thick layer of signs, what it contains or conceals, is what we are researching in the HIDDEN CITIES project. The source material for the film are 9 sequential photo works created by Gusztáv Hámos between 1975 and 2010. Each of these 'city perceptions' depicts essential situations of urban experiences containing human and inhuman acts in a compact form. The cities in which the photo sequences have been made are Berlin, Budapest and New York – places with a traumatised past: Wars, dictatorships, terrorist catastrophes."
