Makoto, der brillentragende, anscheinend emotionslose Typ, der von anderen nur als „Roboter“ bezeichnet wird, spielt, um Zeit zu schinden. Yutaka, der leidenschaftlich charismatische „Held“, der von Makoto als Idol gesehen wird, spielt, weil er Ping Pong liebt und es hasst, zu verlieren.

Wie wird die kalte, grausame Welt des Sports diese zwei so unterschiedlichen Spieler begrüßen? Und was wird auf dem unvermeidlichen Treffen der beiden als Rivalen passieren?

Inaho Jr. High's Boys Ping Pong Club has only 6 members, the club minimum. Takeda is your average nice guy. Kinoshita is good looking and popular with girls. Unfortunately, the rest are branded as losers. Tanabe is too foreign, while Tanaka is petite and perverse. Maena and Izawa are truly deviant, and their crazed antics have earned the team some powerful enemies. In spite of their differences, the team needs to work together to retain their practice room and club status.

Endless competitions take place on the ping pong tables with two young men at the center. Xu Tan is physically weak but strongly passionate and Yu Kenan is unruly but talented. Despite their opposite personalities, Xu Tan and Yu Kenan's mirror the same journey in their sports careers and witness a pivotal time in the history of Chinese ping pong. Xu Tan is a player who undergoes a major transformation. Under the influence of his grandfather, he starts the sport to improve his health and gets noticed for his abilities. Yu Kenan is the star player from a famous family who comes to realize that there are many things he has yet to learn. For their dreams and for the sake of their country, they stand at two ends during the biggest competition of their lives.
