Guy (Ryan Reynolds) is een bankmedewerker die elke dag dezelfde routine volgt. Hij wordt wakker, gaat naar zijn werk, overleeft een bankoverval, speelt en verliest altijd een potje softbal en gaat nadien wat met zijn teamgenoten drinken voordat hij naar bed gaat. Op een dag vindt hij echter een bijzondere bril. Eenmaal opgezet ontdekt hij dat hij in een videospel zit.
