Christopher Lee er tilbage som den blodtørstige greve med ekstra røde øjne i dette vellavede men noget omstændelige kapitel i Hammers serie. Der går nogen tid inden historien er oppe i omdrejninger, men så sker der til gengæld også en hel masse og man snydes da heller ikke for det sædvanlige blodige klimaks til sidst. To smukke kvinder er der også blevet fundet plads til i Veronica Carlson og Barbara Ewings ypperlige skikkelser. Ganske fine billeder og fyldt med atmosfære er det en film der på trods af sine småskavanker fastholder interessen hele vejen.
