Jupiter Moon was a science fiction television series first broadcast by British Satellite Broadcasting's Galaxy Channel from 26 March 1990 until December the same year. 150 episodes were commissioned, but only the first 108 were broadcast by BSB. It was commissioned to fulfill the perceived need for a soap opera in BSB's line-up and, as such, it was shown three times a week, with an omnibus edition at weekends. The series was curtailed owing to the merger between BSB and Sky Television plc and the subsequent cessation of the Galaxy Channel, although the later episodes were eventually shown in the UK on the Sci Fi Channel between 22 January and 19 February 1996. The soap was screened on GBC TV ahead of its premiere on BSB's own Galaxy channel. The soap was seen in the British Overseas Territory every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 730pm, having taken the slot formerly occupied by Eastenders which had become too expensive for GBC TV.

Escape from Jupiter is a space adventure television series about a small group of children from a mining colony on Jupiter's moon, Io, who are forced to flee when a volcanic eruption destroys their world. With a few adult survivors, they seek shelter on the derelict space station KL5, floating above Io, convert it into a jerry-rigged spacecraft, and head off in a desperate attempt to reach Earth. They share many adventures and form close friendships on the dangerous journey. Escape from Jupiter concerned a small colony of humans on the moon of Io.

It is co-hosted by Chen Jiahua, Zhou Tanghao, Xie Kunda (as the interstellar tutor), Tian Yide (as the dance instructor), Mu Mulin Weini (as the warm-hearted senior sister), and He Mei (as the warm-hearted teacher). A total of 80 contestants, most of them from Taiwan, will select 2 groups of 5 male music groups. The show is produced by Wildfire Entertainment. The program divides 80 contestants into eight planetary groups, and according to each planet, establishes individual subgroups with different styles to compete with each other. The winning sub-group will debut as the champion group with 5 members, and the popular group will be selected for debut through voting.
